The National Association of Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) Conference was held August 1-4 in Detroit, Michigan. It was chock full of scholars and practitioners exploring the pedagogy of media literacy education. President Sheri Hope Culver gave an inspiring and motivating keynote reminding us all to put the education in MLE. Other fabulous keynote speakers included Sonia Livingstone ("media literacy rockstar") from the London School of Economics & Chris Perry ("king of media literacy") from Project Look Sharp. Renee Hobbs ("queen of media literacy") from the Media Education Lab @ Temple University and and Amy Petersen Jensen ("goddess of media literacy") from Brigham Young University debuted the new Journal of Media Literacy Education.
