One Day On Earth
Help document the world's story on 10.10.10 by participating in this global event. One Day On Earth is a documentary and new media project about the amazing diversity, conflict, tragedy, and triumph that occurs in one 24-hour period on Earth. More than a film, One Day on Earth is a multi-platform participatory media project. The flagship of this project is a 120-minute documentary to be released theatrically. The One Day on Earth platform will establish a community that not only watches, but participates. [join us]
 
MLC 2010
Media Literacy Conference 2010 co-hosted by the Media Education Association and the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media in partnership with Ofcom will be held Nov 19-20th, 2010 in London, UK. The conference offers a forum and interdisciplinary networking space for teachers, academics and policy-makers to engage in developing media education in a variety of contexts.[learn more]

Northeast Media Literacy Conference
The eighth annual Northeast Media Literacy Conference, was held at the University of Connecticut on March 26, 2010. Keynote speakers were Dr. Susan Linn, author, and Director of the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, and Frank Baker, media literacy leader and creator of the online resource, the Media Literacy Clearinghouse. NAMLE 2009 Conference Recap
The National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) Conference was held August 1-4 in Detroit, Michigan. It was chock full of scholars and practitioners exploring the critical and creative ways to engage in the pedagogy of media literacy education. We mingled with some real media literacy "rock stars." NNER 2009 Conference Recap
The National Network for Educational Renewal convened October 15-17 in Bellevue, WA celebrating its 10th Anniversary.The theme was In Praise of Renewal: The New 3Rs (Reflection, Responsibility, Renewal). PLAY's Vanessa Domine and Newark schoolteacher, Julianne Bello, presented "Stewarding Urban Teacher Education in Newark: In Search of Reflection, Responsibility and Renewal." The paper will be published in the 2010 issue of Education in a Democracy: A Journal of the NNER.
 

PLAY's Executive Director, Vanessa Domine, serves on the Board of Directors of NAMLE and as the 2011 NAMLE Conference Program Committee Chairperson.
